Side Note: Happy New Year!!. What’s even more better than ending a year with a Mac imagine?. Well, it’s starting a new year with one, of course!. This is most likely going to be the last smutty filled imagine for now, as the rest of the ones on my list will probably have more fluff + angst.
Last Night
“You can’t say you enjoy sleeping with me and then give that performance a 7″. Mac somewhat argued.
This whole conversation started playfully in the living room. You were sitting on his lap suggesting he take a long, hot shower as he came back from work all tense. His response was to jokingly add there were other more effective methods that’ll get him to relax. Cut an hour later and the two of you were wrapped up in the sheets, semi naked – Mac wearing only grey briefs and you his plaid shirt.
“Mac, baby, you’re the one who wanted me to honestly rate your love making skills”.
“Well, how would you feel if I rated you a 7?”, retorting back, emphasizing on the number “7″.
Climbing out of bed, you collected the dirty discarded clothes off the floor and threw them in the hamper. Looking over your shoulder, you replied. “Mac, breathe. A 7 isn’t even that bad”. Trying to do your best to reassure him.
He dismissed the effort and thew another question your way. “Have there been any other times you secretly thought sex with me was a tiny bit better than average?”.
Never did you think he’d get so worked up over what was suppose to be a silly number. Mac was one of those guys that cared about your needs in the bedroom, he always made sure to make every time enjoyable and he’d never selfishly prioritize his needs over yours. If you made him feel good, Mac would without a second thought return the favor. The number wasn’t meant to be a personal attack on his ability to love you. And if you’d known this would cause an uproar, you wouldn’t have said a thing.
“Now, you’re just being ridiculous. 6 is a bit better than the average, which is a 5. 7,8,9 and 10 are definitely higher than average”.
He glanced at you, not convinced. “I feel like you’re only saying that to make me feel better”. Mac maneuvered to your side of the bed. “Just tell me what to improve upon”.
“Okay fine, be a bit more spontaneous. I mean we always tend to make love in the bedroom, and don’t get me wrong that’s great. But once in a while a girl likes to be naughty in other places too”. Walking into the bathroom for a quick shower, Mac was left to ponder over the words he heard.
The Next Morning
Getting ready for a pre-planned breakfast with Riley at her place, you ran a brush through the curls that you spent the last 20 minutes perfecting, breaking up any lumps. They delicately draped over your shoulders, and you had to admit they looked pretty damn professional.
Mac entered the bathroom a determined expression written on his face. He marched over pulling you towards him, his lips finding your own. There was little time to register, well, anything as Mac backed you into the edge of the counter. His hand, the one resting on your behind moved away and found a new home – your lower hip.
Taking his swollen lips off your mouth they connected to the base of your neck. Intertwining fingers through his already messy bed hair, you gave in to the tingling sensation that Mac was creating as he skillfully worked the sensitive part of your neck. Adding another level of goosebumps his free hand slipped under his own shirt, the one you slept in the night before, and begun working the area he knew inside and out. Mac continued reaching all of your sweet spots until he heard a moan fall from your mouth.
“Good morning”, greeting Mac, who wore the biggest smirk on his face.
His breath ticked your skin, emitting a shiver down your spine. “Not yet it isn’t, but in a few minutes it most certainly will be”. His voice hoarse from having just woken up.
A hot minute later Mac hiked you onto the counter, pushing away anything that was in his way. You wrapped your leg around his waist, nudging him closer.
“The shirt stays on”. He commanded, only undoing the buttons that needed to be undone. The top fell open and Mac groaned. “I swear you get more beautiful everyday”. Leaving a light trail of kisses in his wake all down your chest.
Closing your eyes, the atmosphere was burning up with every action. Just when you were basking in Mac’s touch, it disappeared. You peered down, “Are you serious right now, why did you stop?”.
There was no missing his smug glance, he wore it well. Gently giving you a kiss, “Say my name”. It wasn’t what you expected him to utter, but you obliged, saying his name like you normally would. Mac shook his head, “Not like that’, his hand running up your thigh.
Lifting your chin via his index finger, those blue eyes made everything around you hotter. Trying to press your legs together, Mac’s hand kept them wide open and a twinkle formed in his eyes. “Forget saying my name for the moment, in a little while you’ll be screaming it. Just tell me what you want, Y/N”.
You gulped, extremely turned on with this assertive side of Mac. Doing your best to steady your quickened heart beat, you reached for Mac’s
briefs. “You already know what I want, Mac”.
He deeply chuckled, jerking you closer to the edge. “You want me, don’t you?”.
Breathing out, “Yes, so badly-”. Slipping a hand into his briefs, Mac hissed at your cold hands. “Just as badly as you want me, Angus”. Maintaining eye contact, watching as his eyes changed from light sky blue to dark ocean blue.
Not enough fire extinguishers was going to be able to put out this flame, the passion, the yearning for one another now had a mind of it’s own. Mac removed your hand and then the material that was giving him grief. His face showing a sign of relief as he sprung free from what was constricting him.
You titled your head back, feeling your walls clench around him. Gripping Mac’s shoulders, his arms carried you to the opposite wall holding you against the marble tiles, kissing anywhere his lips could reach. Picking up speed, you bit down near his collarbone, a throaty moan escaping once your tongue darted over the mark.
Mac huskily demanded. “Don’t close your eyes, look in the mirror”.
At this point it was hard to even think straight, let alone keeping two eyes open. You struggled at first but overcame the desire to shut your eyes. Doing as Mac instructed, never had you been more aroused.
Your view was off Mac’s backside, but that wasn’t what he wanted you to focus on, no, far from it.
“Do you see it?”. He asked, grunting in process.
Stuttering out a yes, it was your body’s reaction to Mac making love to you that he wanted you to see. He was satisfied with your response and returned back to the counter. Both of you were close to the peak. The sweat dripping off both foreheads, heavy panting and the bubbling feeling in the pit of your stomach all indicated just how close.
Mac’s last demand for you was to say his name and you didn’t need to be told twice, because it slipped out so effortlessly after Mac slid in and out one final time.
Touching foreheads, you and Mac smiled at the exact same moment.
“That was-”. Trying to find the most appropriate word to describe what just happened.
“Not a 7 that’s for sure”. Mac smirked, kissing the top of your nose.
Laughing, you leaned back against the mirror. It most certainly wasn’t a 7 and after today you weren’t ever going to question Mac’s love making skills.

Are you playing me, is this a game?. When you show up late, say love at 2 am, then tell me you can’t say. Girl, yeah, what do you want from me?
“Thank you”. Taking the large cup of coffee that you’d been waiting all morning to enjoy. Pouring one sachet of raw sugar into the heavenly liquid of limited energy, you stirred while simultaneously glancing out onto the street.
It was weird to be back in Mission City, even weirder that things hadn’t changed since you left. The coffee shop was still owned by the lovely elderly women who always gave you a free cookie with your hot chocolate when she saw you were having a rough day. The bookstore’s decor still reminded you of old fashion rustic vibes, and the park swings across the small field still had your initials etched under the seat.
Firmly pressing the lid back on, you checked what was next on the calendar. Upon doing so you nearly spilled your coffee on the man entering the cafe. “I’m so-”.
“You always were in a rush to get to places, I’m glad to see that hasn’t changed”. The man voice spoke, sounding very familiar.
You looked up and recognized Mac immediately. He wasn’t so different from the college days. His hair was somewhat a bit longer, but it suited him. “Out of all the places I thought ‘d run into you Mission City wasn’t on the list”.
“I’m only here to show a few close friends were I grew up, they wouldn’t stop bugging me about it”. He starched the back of his neck. You knowing that it would’ve took a great deal of convincing for Mac to come here again. “Are you busy right now?. I’d love to catch up”.
You should’ve said no, this wasn’t the right time to get involved with anyone. Yet, you spent the afternoon with Mac, listening to his stories from the army and him asking what you’ve been up too since the last time he saw you.
The conversation was going so well that it was only until the barista came up to inform you guys the cafe was closing that you realized how fast the day went by. Mac offered to walk you to the hotel, it resided a few blocks from here, an easy 5 minute stroll away. However, you liked tonight’s company and didn’t object his gentlemen offer.
Standing outside the room, neither knew how to say goodbye. A kiss on the cheek seemed too much and a hug seemed not enough. Mac opted for an awkward smiled, “I guess this is goodnight then”.
“I guess it is”. Unlocking the door but keeping it shut.
Mac leaned in for a hug, the awkwardness he was emitting before disappeared as he gently wrapped his arms around you. There was a slight hesitation from the both of you to pull away. Despite that, Mac broke the embrace and it was back to being nervous.
“Would you like to come in?”. You asked, opening the door a notch. “I would say for coffee but since we already had some, how about dessert?”.
“I could go for some dessert”. He replied, stepping into your hotel room. You bit your lip and hung the do not disturb sign on the door.
4 Months Later
Friends with benefits, casual “sleepovers”, fuck buddies – whatever the correct term, that’s what you and Mac were doing. Whenever you were in town, Mac’s place would be the first place you’d visit. By now you lost count how many times in the last four months you awoke with a naked Mac sleeping beside you.
Running your fingers softy through your hair to tame the strands flicking in all directions, once most of it was controlled you unbuttoned Mac’s shirt and replaced it with yesterdays clothes.
“No goodbye?”. Mac pulled the sheets up to cover his torso, his morning voice thick and husky.
“I thought it was best to let you catch up on sleep, you know since we didn’t get much last night”. Zipping up your left open toed grey boots, preparing to leave just as soon as you found the other shoe. Spotting it peaking under Mac’s jeans, he reached for it before you could. “I need my shoe to leave, Mac”.
“You’ll get it back, just have breakfast with me first”. He negotiated. While he was trying to be cute all it did was annoy you. One knee on the bed to hold your weight, you leaned forward, inches away from Mac’s lips. He was too focused on whether you were going to kiss him that he didn’t even see your right hand slide under the covers. He hissed at the unexpected contact, causing him to loosen his grip on your boot.
Your aim was to get the shoe, but you loved seeing Mac submit to your touch, so you continued to help him reach his peck. “So that’s it then?. Sleep with me, jerk me off in the morning and then leave?”.
Placing your shoe on it’s rightful foot, you sighed. “It hasn’t changed from all the other times we’ve done this”.
“Maybe I want it to change, did you ever think about that?. Being your booty call at 2 in the morning or any other time for that matter was fun when we first started, but I think it’s time we talk”. Mac stated, reaching for his top and a clean set of briefs.
“Mac, baby-”
He shut the drawer and turned to face you. “I like you,Y/N, and I thought that was pretty obvious. And I also thought this-”. He pointed to the messy bed sheets. “could be more then just sex”. You sat on the bed, facing away from Mac. He slid behind you, legs dangling either side with you sitting in between his legs. “I don’t want to be the guy you call just to sleep with anymore. I want to be the guy that can satisfy all your needs, not just the physical ones”.
At some point you knew the tables would turn, expect you didn’t think it would be this soon. Standing up, you needed Mac to understand anything more was not in the cards. “Why can’t it we just be two adults who occasional sleep together, no strings attached?. It’s been working fine for the last few months, why complicate it?”.
“Because I need to know if this is mutual before I get too attached to you. If what we’re doing can turn from meaningless sex to an actual relationship”.
“Mac-”
He cut you off by picking up your jacket and handing it to you “Please don’t call me again unless it’s to tell me you’ve changed your mind”.
Not wanting to cause Mac any more pain you quietly left. Your intention was never for it to end up like this, but then again how else was it suppose to end.
It had been just under a week since you last saw Mac, and you had to admit it was a tough pill to swallow not waking up to him most morning’s. Your brain couldn’t quite come up with an accurate conclusion as to why letting him go was tough. However, your heart could. And it was screaming for you to wake up and accept your feelings mirrored Mac’s.
So here you were, back at Mac’s place. He opened the door, giving no friendly greeting. “I owe you the truth, an explanation. Can I come in?”. Hoping that it wasn’t too late. He ultimately stepped aside and you felt the nerves rise.
The door to his bedroom was wide open, he followed your gaze and blocked the view. “So, what’s this explanation you’re here to give”.
Breathing in then out, you spilled the truth. “The first time we slept together in Mission City after seeing each
other again in years, I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep this casual.
But, I tried to fight it. And then hearing you say you had feelings, I
got scared and I couldn’t risk opening myself up to the hurt and pain that comes with being in a relationship”.
You could see Mac was having trouble understanding where all this was coming from by the way his eyes crinkled. “Who hurt you so badly?. Because the Y/N I knew believed that love was worth all the risks”.
“Well,
that girl got left at the altar”. Mac straightened
up, alarmed at the news you almost got married. “My ex-fiance was too
much of a coward to tell me why to my face, so he only left a note with
the words I’m sorry. Since then I’ve never let
myself get emotionally attached to anyone, instead I’d just run”. Meeting Mac’s stare.
He leaned down to delicately place a kiss on your lips. “You don’t have to run anymore”.
“Promise?”.
Mac lifted your chin, his blue eyes holding so much devotion just for you. “I promise”.
Summary: Inspired by “Champagne” by Lia Marie Johnson. Listen here.
Yes, it’s really over now. You’re so good at letting me down.
Why are you even trying to fight?. We’ve been here a million times
Throwing the napkin onto the plate, he was late – again. It didn’t come as a surprise, by now it felt like a continuous cycle. Leaving the table as is, you weren’t going to bother cleaning it all up. You wanted Mac to see the effort you placed into the anniversary dinner he promised he’d be on time too, yet, carelessly missed instead.
Sadly this wasn’t the first strike in the series of letting you down. You understood the pressure Mac’s job held, the time consuming nights that he had to endure. Yet, while you understood, there was no helping feeling selfish in wanting him all to yourself. You were sick of sharing Mac with the world. It wasn’t even a fair sharing agreement, not since the world got to see more of him then you ever did these past two years.
Throwing your shoes by the bed, you locked the door and curled up on the sheets, staring aimlessly at Mac’s desk.
As you awoke, you turned on the light to drown out the darkness that had engulfed you. Apart of you hoped that Mac used his niffy skills to pick the lock and that he’d be sleeping right beside you. But, no such luck. His side was untouched and cold.
The clock read 2am and you dragged your sore, blistered feet that the newly brought red heels gave you to the kitchen. Staring at the anniversary dinner that you spent hours preparing, you grabbed Mac’s plate and threw it onto the floor, the fragments of the plate shattered all around you. Doing the same with your plate and the glasses it made you feel better for a split second. That was until you observed the mess and an over-whelming state of emptiness replaced that satisfying feeling.
You were out on the terrace when Mac decided to come home an hour later. He called out your name, you could even hear him comment on the smashed dinnerware surrounding the floor of the living room.
“What the hell happened in there?”. He asked, nothing but concern in his voice.
You didn’t answer, not right away. You took a couple of minutes and let the breeze run across your skin as you memorized the beautiful shimmering city lights. When you finally did reply your voice held no emotion. “I threw the plates on the floor when you missed our anniversary dinner”. Tearing away from the scenery and glancing at Mac.
“Work-”. Shoving past him, you didn’t have the heart to go through the endless list of excuses that Mac always had ready. You heard plenty throughout the years and not one held much merit anymore. Trailing into the living room, Mac rushed over to grab your wrist. “We can have another dinner tonight, we can even go to that restaurant you love so much. Just please, let me make it up to you”.
Yanking it away, you angrily spat back. “Why, so you can just let me down again?”.
“Do you think I purposely set out to let the women I love down. Do you think it doesn’t kill me knowing that I’ve missed our anniversary dinner, or that we can’t properly spend time together without my damn phone going off?”. He retaliated.
“One night, Mac. One damn night and you couldn’t even keep your word when it really mattered”.
He rubbed his temple, placing his hands firmly on the kitchen counter. “I can’t abandon my job, Y/N!”.
“But you can abandon me on our anniversary!?”. Crying out, your voice cracking mid-sentence. You were tried of the same drama rearing it’s ugly head, and as you observed Mac his body language suggested he too wanted to reach some sort of conclusion. However, you’d wager his conclusion wasn’t going to align with yours. “You know what, you can clean up the mess. I’m done trying too”. It was clear that there was a double meaning woven throughout your sentence, and Mac being as smart as he was caught on to the secret message you were trying to convey.
“Oh, I get it, so this is my fault then“. He pointed to the mess
literally and figuratively scattered around the two of you. Mac removed his leather jacket, which gave him a few seconds to take a breath, to think about what to say next. Although, it didn’t matter how much time he took, no amount of pauses would stop the built up adrenaline from spilling out painful words. “I can’t believe you’re going to stand there and be so selfish”.
“Well, believe it. Because you have no idea what it’s like to wait alone each and every night for you to come back to me alive. How it feels to be put second over your god damn job”. Your voice started off calm, but it quickly grew into a deep frustration, until you shouted the last part. “So after all these years I’m allowed to be a little bit selfish here, Mac!”.
He messed up his blond locks, his temper getting the best of him, just like yours was. “And what am I allowed to be?!”
Taking a minute to think, you looked up and whispered. “Free”.
Mac’s mouth gaped open, completed stunned by your answer. Never did he think the damage had gotten this bad – bad enough for you to walk away. He moved toward you, avoiding all the broken glass. “I don’t want to be free, I want to be with you. Y/N, don’t do this”.
“I didn’t, you did”. Ignoring his pleas to talk it out further, you grabbed your bag containing a few items of clothes that you threw in days ago and let yourself out the front door. And the same time you closed it, you heard another glass shatter.
So, I’ma buy a bottle of the best champagne. I’ma raise a glass or two myself in your name. And I’ma cry if I want to, it’s my party without you.
Walking up to the clerk’s desk at your favourite hotel in the city, you politely asked if any room’s where available. The man typed away, scanning his computer. “You’re in luck, Miss. We have one suite available on the third floor. It comes too-”.
“I don’t care how much it costs, I’ll take it”. Pulling out your credit card and handing over. The man smiled, happy that it was an easy transaction. He processed to ask how many nights you planned to stay. Ironic, you hadn’t thought that far ahead, even though it was you who left the house. “Just two nights, please”. He nodded and entered all the appropriate details. You obtained the key card and the clerk cheerfully wished you a pleasant stay.
Finding room 307, you slipped the key card in and entered the lavish decorated room. Unzipping the bag, your eyes caught that dress – Mac’s favourite.
You’d worn it for his birthday. Bozer had helped you organize the house for a surprise party, while Jack was keeping Mac busy. When you went to buy more decorations the dress caught your eye in the display window. That night when Mac first laid eyes on you wearing the dress, it rendered him speechless. So much so he reminded you all throughout the evening how much he absolutely loved how it hugged every singe curve. You’d never forget that moment his eyes lit up, or how gentle he was when he took the dress off.
Letting it sit on top of the bag you went to have a shower, spending more time then necessary under the hot water, even occasionally imagining Mac’s touch on your skin. Shutting off the water before the memories became too much, you walked back into the room, a towel wrapped around your frame. Noticing the complementary bottle of champagne nesting nicely in the ice bucket, an idea sparked. Slipping on the dress and popping open the champagne, you filled the glass almost to the brim. Standing in front of the oversized window, your tears blurred the luminous glow of the city lights.
“Goodbye, Mac”. You whispered. Downing the champagne, you let the empty glass slip from your fingers and collide with the plush white rug.
Side Note: In this one just pretend Mac’s dad isn’t in charge of The Phoenix
Your family was deathly rich and with such a prestigious title came influence, power and a high social status. Being the daughter of the man who was in charge of the most secret, elite government agency had many perks. Unfortunately, the biggest downside outweighed the flashy parties and designer clothing. And it came in the form of always having to uphold a squeaky clean image. For the most part you were as sweet as could be, however, when it came to Angus Macgyver you wanted to be anything but sweet.
He’d caught your eye when you were sent to oversee how The Phoenix was progressing. Mac stood in the war room listening to a briefing wearing blue jeans and a simple black sweater, which he made look absolutely effortless. Instead of Gary restating his position of overseeing the initial checks, you got your father to give you the job. When he asked why you came up with a basic excuse, saying that you saw it as a great learning opportunity. He seemed convinced and every Thursday you’d secretly see Mac.
Contact wasn’t immediate. Obvious glances, casually nods and flirty smiles was how it begun. From there things heated up tremendously and each time it was all done under your fathers nose, which is how you wanted to keep it. For, his daughter messing around with an agent would destroy that squeaky clean image, something that your father cared about a lot more then his own daughter’s happiness and this gala proved that.
The nude lipstick you lightly re-applied matched perfectly with your beige satin dress. It flowed naturally, the silk material feeling heavenly against your bare skin. For an extra special touch you reached for the only accessory needed to make this outfit and any other outfit complete – a necklace with a small “A” hanging from the bottom.
“Now remember, darling, best behaviour”. Your mother lightly curled the last few strands of hair. The third time since getting dressed that she’d informed you to not cause any trouble this evening.
“I’ll be as sweet as an angel, mother”. Smiling, toying with the necklace.
Descending down the staircase, your father stood at the bottom talking to Tyler – your personal security detail. Searching through the crowd you couldn’t see Mac yet. But, you did notice Jack following a waiter to grab a glass of champagne, which meant Mac was here, somewhere.
“Sweetheart, you look absolutely stunning”. Kissing your cheek, your father recapped what he’d just told Tyler – that he remain by your side at all times just in case of an emergency. You sighed, hating the idea of Tyler hovering. “Now, now, it’s for your own safety”.
Your father left to mingle with colleagues and guests. You stared at Tyler who seemed nervous to be in your presences. “Now that my father is gone you can go ahead and enjoy the party”.
He shook his head. “No can do, I have strict instructions to not leave your side”.
“We’ll see about that”. Mumbling under your breath.
Striding past the crowded ballroom you gave out “hello’s” and a few kisses on the cheek to familiar faces who wanted to stop for a quick chat. Eventually, you made it to the far left side of the foyer.
“Gentlemen”. Both Mac and Jack greeted you with a kiss on the hand, the only difference was Mac’s lips lingered a fraction of a second longer on your skin. “I was wondering if you don’t mind Jack, if I could steal Mac away for a few minutes”. Jack excused himself to the bar, knowing the reason behind innocently pulling Mac privately aside. He put the pieces together fairly quickly, claiming it was due to his impeccable detective skills. However, you and Mac wagered he’d only found out accidentally by reading the text you sent to Mac while they were on a mission stake out. The next day Jack wouldn’t rest until either you or Mac confirmed the relationship was more romantic then platonic.
Turning to Tyler you advised him to stay inside, although he disobeyed that order and stubbornly refused.
“Tyler, is it?”. He nodded as Mac clapped him gently on the back. “I can assure you Y/N is going to be completely safe in my company”.
“But I -”. His face losing colour at the thought of your father discovering he’d failed to do one simple task of staying by your side.
Mac charmingly interjected, smiling at Tyler to show there was no need to panic. “Have done an adequate job so far, but, let me take over from here”.
There was no winning the battle or the chance to rebuttal as Mac placed his hand on your lower back leading you to the garden. It was aesthetic pleasing – acres and acres of greenery, flowers and marble stone embedded among shiny white pebbles creating a pathway all the way around. You followed Mac to the furthest part of the garden away from civilization.
“Hands down you’re the most beautiful person here”. He spun you in an elegant circle and you giggled, feeling like you could breath again. “And I must say whoever gave you that necklace has excellent taste”. Mac’s finger traced the letter “A”, the one he made for you out of paperclips so you’d always have him close to your heart. He then kept sliding down the exposed skin showing due to the dresses plunging neckline, you didn’t dare take your eyes away from Mac. He meet your gaze and brought his lips softly upon yours.
“The way you handled Tyler was incredibly sexy”. Sliding off his suit jacket, letting it fall on the footpath.
Mac brushed your hair to one side and attached his lips to your neck, talking in between each kiss. “When it comes to your safety I don’t trust many people with it. And I have no doubt Tyler can do his job, but his no me”.
“How much time do you think we have before people notice we’re not at the party?”. Biting your lower lip as Mac’s tongue darted across the sensitive area of skin.
“What did you have in mind?”. Mac asked, although he answered his own question when you unzipped his pants. Pushing Mac further behind the brush, you knelt down, quickly and effectively bringing Mac to a satisfying release.
The rest of the gala lacked the same excitement as in the garden. You’d remained mostly at the bar while having a clear view of Mac and Jack chatting away near the staircase. Every so often he’d catch your stare, lightly smile, then turn his attention away.
“Tyler told me Agent Macgyver relieved him of his security duty”. Your father stood beside you, whispering low. “Which is funny because he doesn’t have the authority to do that, only I do”.
“Maybe he wouldn’t of needed too if you eased up on the security. It’s a gala, father, what do you think will happen here?”. Sipping your second glass of champagne. “Beside, Mac’s more then qualified to keep me safe”.
Your father blocked your view and you had to stop from rolling your eyes at his stern glare. “He’s a fine agent, there’s no denying that. But, you’re also in the most danger with him, who knows how many enemies his team has made”. He took your glass in order to get you to give him your undivided attention. “Having a security detail is not only to keep you safe, but to also give me peace of mind. So, don’t be difficult and let Tyler do his job”.
Straightening his tie, you sweetly smiled. “As you wish, father”.
He handed you back the quarter filled glass and you set it down on the bar, exchanging the fine china for a pen. The bartender handed you the one sitting in his pocket and you scribbled on the spare napkin, discreetly slipping the note in Mac’s hand as you walked past.
Waiting by the service entrance, waiters rushed in and out barely recognizing you, which was what you were hoping for.
“I don’t think the service entrance is a good place to go for round two”. Mac smirked, leaning against the wall.
“Then how about your place?”. Suggestively raising an eyebrow. “I need you to take me away from this gala, Mac. I can’t stay to be here another second. Between my father and Tyler I’m going to go insane”.
Mac pulled you in a hug, knowing the pressure to keep up appearances was beginning to take it’s toll. “Okay, we’ll leave. Let me go tell Jack and get the keys to the car and then I promise it’ll just be you and me”.
You waited as Mac slipped back in and out of the party hopefully undetected. Lacing hands, the two of you ran to the car making the ultimate getaway from the gala.
The moment your bare feet hit the wooden floorboards everything felt lighter. Like, you could be just a girl as opposed to the daughter of the most respected and influential man of the Phoenix Foundation. Back against the white wall, you closed your eyes to take in the peace. When you re-opened them Mac was inches way from your face. “I like seeing you this happy”. His thumb caressed your cheek.
“Well, I’m with the man I-”. You paused, avoiding Mac’s blue eyes.
He lifted your chin. “You were about to say love, weren’t you?”.
“I shouldn’t of said anything, I-”
“Don’t you dare take it back, because then me saying I love you too will be extremely awkward”. Wrapping your arms around his neck, Mac carried you bridal style careful to not rip the delicate dress.
Undressing each other was slow and intimate, it felt like this was the first time you and Mac truly saw each other naked. As you stepped out of the dress Mac laid you down on the bed. There was no rush tonight. For, it wasn’t about who would reach their peak first or who would make the other scream the loudest. It was about connecting as one and feeling the love through actions instead of words.
The light glided across your skin, yet, it wasn’t the sharp sun that awoke you. It was the voices in the next room. Buttoning Mac’s shirt you saw two male figures in the kitchen. One was obvious Mac, the other turned to the sound of you stepping on a creaking floorboard – Tyler.
“Good, you’re up. Time to get dressed because I’m here to take you home”. He bluntly stated, giving Mac the cold shoulder.
“Did my father send you?”. Pouring yourself a cup of coffee, stirring a teaspoon of sugar and adding a splash of milk.
“No, he still has no clue about whatever this is”. Pointing from you to Mac. “But, I will tell him if you don’t get your things and come with me”.
Mac had enough and stood in between. “How about you ask Y/N what she wants instead of making that decision for her”.
“What she wants is irrelevant considering she’s been messing around with you, Macgyver. So, unless you want to get fired or worse I suggest you convince her that breaking things off is the best idea for everyone”. Tyler re-adjusted his cuff links and jabbed Mac backwards. Mac scrunched his fist, then loosened when he felt your small hand rub his back .
“I’m not going anywhere and I’m sure as hell not breaking things off”. Invading Tyler’s personal space, you glared his way. “So, either grow a pair and tell my father or get the hell out of Mac’s house”.
“Neither will be necessary”. Your father’s voice echoed, beside him two of his own private detail and an unpleased expression plastered on his face. Tyler smugly stepped back and you stretched Mac’s shirt down embarrassed to be standing semi exposed.
“Sir, I care deeply and love-”.
Your father cut Mac off with a wave of his hand. “It’s my time to talk, Agent Macgyver”. The atmosphere’s intensity increased, too much testosterone
for one room to handle. “I’m not going to lie, when I found out my daughter was sneaking behind my back and seeing an agent I wanted to fire your ass and forbid my daughter from seeing you ever again. However, I see how happy she’s been these last few months even when she thinks I don’t notice and that to me is what’s important”.
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing, nor could Mac.
“I will take care of her. I promise, sir”. They shook hands to seal an understanding between two men. Shortly after your father left not wanting to intrude anymore then he’d already done, calling for Tyler to follow, who reluctantly did so.
Mac tugged on the his shirt you were wearing and passionately kissed you. “Can I convince you to stay for breakfast?. After all I’ve heard it’s suppose to be the most important meal of the day”. Huskily whispering in your ear.
“Oh, I’ll be staying for more then just breakfast, Agent Macgyver”. Giving him a sultry look, beckoning him to come closer with your finger to kiss you again.
“Babe?”. Mac shuffled his bare feet across the floorboards, finding
you kneeling beside the coffee table hunched over a stack of papers and
typing rapidly on the keyboard. He sighed. This was the second time he’d
found you working majority of the night and to say he wasn’t worried
would be a vast understatement.
Your head snapped up. “Mac, morning. What time is it?”.
“Nearly 6. You’ve been up all night, haven’t you?”.
Jumping
up from your position, you gathered the folders and juggled them on top
of your laptop. Giving Mac a kiss on the cheek, you told him not to
worry. “I’m going to take a shower”.
Mac ran a hand through
his hair. Everything in this living room screamed a cause of concern.
From the endless coffee cups to the discarded crinkled papers
surrounding the rubbish bin. He
tidied
up the best he could, stopping
once he heard the shower turn off. Mac tried to never use his assertive
voice with you, for that was reserved for work. However, he feared if he
couldn’t make you slow down just a little bit you’d fall asleep at the
wheel and he’d get a call saying you’d been emitted to hospital.
Walking
into the room, he saw you’d already gotten dressed for work. Moving
aside your bag he sat down on the bed waiting for you to reappear from
the bathroom. “Y/N, we need to talk”. You halted, noticing the
seriousness in his tone. “You need to slow down. Pulling an all nighter not once but twice,
coming back late from work, not sleeping properly”. Mac stood up and
rubbed your arms. “I’m worried that you’ll burn out and end up in the
hospital”.
You saw the sadness in Mac’s eyes at even
imagining that frightening prospect. Placing a hand on his cheek. “I
hear you, I do. And I promise after we finalize this big publishing
deal with who I’m hoping will become our new client, then I’ll be able
to relax. But, for now I need to get to work”.
Mac wanted to protest, but, you quickly kissed him and walked out the room.
“Is everything going to plan, because if not-”.
Your assistant Claire put an assuring hand on your shoulder. “Everything is on track. You need to breathe, Y/N”.
Organizing
the mess that was your desk, you took her advice. Tomorrow had to go
smoothly. A big meeting was scheduled and you needed
it to be a success. If it did, you were a step closer to signing the
biggest and hottest new author to your publishing company, a deal that
had been in the making for months now.
Claire excused herself when Riley knocked at the door. She stepped in, closing the
glass door behind her. “Hectic morning?”.
“You could say that. Did
Mac send you?”. Riley glanced down, she couldn’t lie to you so she
nodded. “Well, you can tell him not to worry. I’m fine”. Walking around
to the other side of the desk to grab a folder, you felt lightheaded,
but passed it off as moving too fast.
“Y/N, it’s just us. You can talk to me”.
“I
just have a big client coming in that I need to prepare for, that’s
all”. Throwing down the folder when it wasn’t the one you were looking
for. Suddenly a wave of panic flooded in. You tried to steady your
breathing, however, the more you did the more it felt like the room was
spinning rapidly out of control. “Riley, I don’t feel so good”. Admitting, clutching the edge of the desk but failing when your hand
missed and you hit the floor.
Riley called out your name, running
over. Onlookers came in to see what was happening – some gasped and
other’s stood frozen. Claire rushed to call for an ambulance shaking as she
did so, and Riley dialed Mac hating that she had to tell him that his
biggest fear had just come true.
Mac
sprinted into the hospital reception area, Jack and Matty following
suit. The nurse continued to stare at the computer screen oblivious to
Mac’s presence. He banged his hand on the table to catch her attention.
“I need to know what room Y/N is in?”. He frantically asked. Running a
pen down her chart, she stopped at the end of the page and told Mac you
were in room 205. “How is she?”.
“I’m sorry, I can’t give away that information if you’re not family”.
That
response irritated Mac, he went to argue but Jack pulled him back. “I
know this is hard, man. But you have to keep yourself together. Let’s
just go and sit down, yeah”. They joined Riley in the waiting room, in
which all Mac did was pace and glance up at the door every 15 seconds.
Several
nurses and doctors exited and it wasn’t until an hour later that your
doctor came to update the team. “Angus Macgyver?”. Mac shot up from the
chair. “Her body was extremely over-worked and she passed out from
exhaustion. She’s going to be okay once she gets the rest her body
needs. We gave her something that’ll help her sleep for the next few
hours. You’re more then welcome to visit her and wait until she wakes
up”. Everyone breathed a sign of relief, mostly Mac who felt the heaviness in his heart lift.
Entering
your room he saw you sound asleep, blissfully dreaming. Mac dragged the chair closer to the bed, lacing his
hand in yours as he waited for you to wake up.
Adjusting to
the dull whiteness of the hospital room, where the only colour came from
get well soon cards and flowers, you titled your head to the side and
saw Mac sleeping awkwardly on the chair. Gently shaking him, he slowly
awoke and you smiled seeing his warm blue eyes staring back at you. “How long have you been there?”.
Removing his leather jacket
that had been acting like a
blanket, he kissed you hello. “I haven’t left since they brought you
in”. Sliding over, Mac cuddled with you. “I’ve never been more scared in
my life, Y/N. When Riley called me and told me what happened, I felt my
heart stop for a second. I asked you to slow down, why didn’t you?”.
Fiddling
with a loose strand from the blue hospital blanket, you bit your lip to
stop it quivering. “I know, I should of listened. But I remember the
girl I was, the one who felt like life had sucked out every ounce of
motivation from her. And I guess that’s why I didn’t listen to you, because I
worked so hard to get where I am and I’m afraid that if I stop I’ll-”. Looking up at Mac, “I don’t want to
go back to that girl, Mac. I don’t want to feel like a failure again”.
“Come
here”. Mac pulled you into a hug, his arms making you feel instantly
safe. “You’re not a failure, there’s no way I’m going to let you believe that. So please, take it easy for the next couple of
days, if not for yourself then for me?”.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you nodded, feeling a wet tear roll down your left cheek.
It was a false alarm, just a false alarm – you could deal with that. The negative pregnancy test sat on the bathroom counter. It’s not like you didn’t want to have kids with Mac, however, the timing just wasn’t right. So when your monthly cycle was a few days late, you panicked, and brought a test to confirm or deny if that was the reason why. Checking the box again, one line meant not pregnant, looking back at the stick one pink line appeared on the test. You threw everything in the bin taking a minute to compose yourself.
“Y/N, we need to go, Matty just called”. Mac knocked, you opened the door giving him a smile. “You okay?”.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?”.
He flushed the toilet when he was done, washing his hands as he spoke. “You were just in here for a while. What were you doing, taking a pregnancy test”. He joked and your heart quickened.
“Come on, we don’t want to be late”. Ushering him out of the bathroom, as you were doing so Mac’s eye caught the test laying underneath a few tissues. He remained silent not wanting to say anything until you told him, however, days went by and you never said a word.
One Week Later
7 days, 24 minutes and 33 seconds had gone by and Mac still hoped you’d bring up the neagtive pregnancy test. He even went as far to drop hints about that morning, but you either didn’t pick up on them or choose to ignore them completely.
“So how long do you think you can keep not telling me?”. Mac quizzed, angling his body toward you.
“Not telling you what?”. Responding, eyes still reading the book in your hands. Mac leaned over, taking the book and placing it behind him. “I was reading that”.
“Were you ever going to tell me?”. You shot Mac a perplexed look. “Don’t pretend like you don’t know what I’m talking about because you do”. When you didn’t change the expression on your face, Mac got up from the couch and returned with the test in his hands.
“Where did you get that from?”.
He threw it on the table, “From the bin, Y/N, where you threw it away a week ago. As you pushed me out of the bathroom I saw it laying in the trash. And since then I was waiting for you to tell me that you thought you were pregnant, but all I got was silence. Why would you keep something like this from me?”.
Rubbing your hands on the back of your jeans, you filled a glass full of water. “Because it was neagtive, I didn’t see the point in telling you about a false test”.
Mac scoffed, “That’s a shitty excuse and you know it”. You glanced away, in that time he placed the test right in front of you. “Whatever the result was I deserved to know”.
The door clicked shut and you couldn’t shake the sadness in Mac’s voice. Throwing it back in the bin where it belonged, you sighed. Not having the test in sight didn’t erase the guilt you felt for keeping it a secret, it only magnified it.
Mac came home two hours later, his breath smelled of beer but not to the point where he was drunk. Stripping away today’s clothing, he slipped into bed. “I know you’re mad, but can we at least talk about it some more?”.
“I have nothing else to say”. He stated, turning off the lamp of his side.
You reached over, turning it back on. “Well I do. Mac, I didn’t keep it from you to hurt you. But what would of me telling you actually accomplished?”.
Sitting up against the headboard, he exhaled. “I don’t know, but I do know that you’re suppose to tell me these things”.
“We’re not ready to have kids and I didn’t want a false alarm to freak you out”. Swinging one leg over, you slid your hands along Mac’s chest. “Babe, I love you. And I promise when that test shows me that I am pregnant, I will tell you in a heartbeat”.
“I wouldn’t of freaked out”. Titling your head to the side in an “oh really” manner. “Okay, maybe a little. But I would of been happy too”. He placed a hand on your stomach. “In our line of work we can never really plan for something like having a baby, no matter long we wait it’ll still be a surprise”.
“I know, but the
surprise
doesn’t have to be now”. Mac stared wishfully at your stomach. “Do you want it to be now?”. Curiously wondering.
“No, I don’t know, maybe”.
Climbing off him, your brain was trying to keep up with the latest revelation just told to you. Mac hovered above, “Tell me what you want?”.
“As selfish as it sounds I just want you. And maybe in a few years time we can discuss having mini versions of us running around. Are you okay with that?”.
“I’m more then okay with that”. Bringing his lips down onto yours, you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him in deeper.
Summary: You feel like history is about to repeat itself regarding Mac and Cage, and get upset about the whole situation as it reminds you of Nikki, in turn, you partly take it out on Mac.
“That’s ridiculous, we’re just work colleagues”. Mac exclaimed, frosting the glass as a couple of onlookers peered on by.
He’d
been reassuring you with the same sentence for weeks now. Cage was the new
addition to the team, a unexpected one, but Matty saw that she possessed
qualities that could be useful. When she was introduced you decided to
give her a chance, after all there was no way you could judge someone
from one glance. Over time you begun to hear stories, mostly by
asking Jack what it was like to have her out of the field. He was
hesitant to say anything that could potentially put a wedge in your
relationship with Mac, that didn’t ease any growing concerns so he
eventually told you what he’d observed – Cage possibly
getting a little too interested in Mac. Your heart jumped at the
prospect of what that might look like. When Jack saw your worried
expression, he quickly added her intentions were harmless.
Checking your watch, you didn’t have time to argue with Mac. “So were you and Nikki”.
Mac sighed, sometimes he really hated having that thrown back in his face. “You can’t keep using that against me”.
“I’m
just stating facts, work colleagues can turn into something more, we did. It’s
not impossible that Cage could have feelings or that she could act on them”.
“Expect your forgetting one thing”. You asked him what that was. “I’m with you. I have everything I need right in front of me”.
Your phone buzzed, it was Matty demanding you get your ass to the conference room. Taking the folders you placed on the table upon walking in, Mac’s tone displayed annoyance at the fact you had to leave when the conversation was far from over. “We have to talk about this”.
“And
we will, but not now”. You had a mission briefing to get too and before
Mac pulled you into the war room to talk you were already running far behind
schedule.
Mac rushed over blocking part of the door. “I love you”.
You maneuvered past him, leaving without returning the same words of affection. The first time in a year that you hadn’t reciprocated Mac’s I love you.
The meeting run over, due to you being late. Matty far from impressed at your lack of punctuality made it clear afterwards. “Whatever is going on with you and Macgyver, fix it”. She stated.
Cleaning up the table, throwing away papers that weren’t needed and straightening up chairs, Matty glared at you to take a seat and not wanting make matters worse you did as you were instructed. Softening her tone, she offered some friendly advice. “I know that some days it isn’t easy mixing work with personal and while I think you and Mac are good for each other, I won’t hesitate to step in if any of it affects him doing his job or you doing yours. So go home and figure it all out. Because by tomorrow I want both of you to be on good terms, you got it?”.
Faintly smiling, you nodded. Checking your phone Mac had sent you a message asking if you wanted a lift home, typing back that you drove your own car this morning and he didn’t have to wait for you as you had one last errand to take care of, you gathered your things from the office and went to find Cage. Running into her in one of the hallways, she stopped in her tracks assessing your hostile behaviour and asked if you wanted to talk. “There is something I’ve been wanting to ask you and I would appreciate if you were honest with me”.
“Of course, always”.
“What are your intentions with Mac?”.
She chuckled, and you weren’t at all sure what was so funny about your question. “Y/N, I’m not a threat to your relationship with Mac”.
“Yeah, well, things can change. I mean working out on the field anything can happen, right?”. Adjusting the strap from your bag that was digging into the crook of your arm.
Her area of expertise shone through with her next choice of words. “I’m sensing this is less about me and more to do with your own insecurities”.
Staring at Cage with amazement at her brazen response, “I think this conversation is now over”.
“Y/N, I didn’t mean to cross a line, if I-”.
“Goodnight, Cage”. Calling out as you headed for the exit. You hoped some clarification from her would make the tiny voice of self-doubt stop, but it was persistent in making you believe that if given the chance or put in the right circumstances romantic sparks from one party or both could fly.
On your way home the long route seemed appropriate, it gave you time to clear a cloudy mind. Your mother had always told you a little jealously was healthy in a relationship, it helped strengthen the bond between two people. And while past experiences did prove her words held truth, you feared that maybe this jealously was something that you couldn’t get past, in turn, causing your bond with Mac to severely break.
Indicting to turn left, you pulled up on the local street and then into the driveway parking right beside Mac’s Jeep. You took longer then necessary to collect your belongings and enter the house. Mac came into the bedroom from the terrace apologizing for the role he may have played to cause you any apprehension regarding him and Cage.
Setting down your bag, shoes, keys and jacket you took two strides and pulled Mac in for a lengthy kiss. He held onto your waist, stumbling back into the nearest object – his desk. Breaking the kiss, only for a second, to remove your blouse and Mac’s jeans. He stepped out of the clothing wrapped around his ankles and moved you to the bed. As the night progressed, Mac didn’t dare to ask what he wanted to know, not during any of the foreplay moments and certainly not when you were wrapped around him. He bit his tongue and savoured the
brief period of time the two of you weren’t arguing.
Catching your breath, you could feel Mac’s eyes linger. He sneaked his arm under the sheets inching your body closer. “Am I forgiven?”. Wondering into the bathroom, grabbing along the way his discarded shirt, you fixed up the tangled strands. “Y/N, I know we didn’t just make love for nothing”.
“Maybe we did”. Sliding on a new pair of red boyleg underwear.
Mac slid on his sweatpants and grabbed your wrist before you made it to the door. “Hey, we’re not doing this again. I said I was sorry, I told you that me and Cage are just work colleagues, what more do you want from me?”.
Your mind subconsciously flashed to Cage’s
insecurities
comment, clenching your jaw you hated to admit that she may have been partially right. “Nothing, okay. I’m just tired of wondering when the next Nikki will show up or if she’ll come back and I-”. Leaning on the door frame, you exhaled. “I got jealous and scared because I can’t lose you, Mac”.
“Why wouldn’t you tell me that before, I would of understood”.
“No, you wouldn’t have. Because I don’t have a Nikki for you to worry about or a Cage or anyone else for that matter. So, don’t stand there and tell me you know how I feel”.
The frustration that was starting to die down, arose once more.
“Then talk to me, help me understand!”.
“I can’t, I don’t know how”. Admitting, exhausted emotionally and physically.
Mac threw on a plain white shirt, closing the drawer with somewhat intentional force. “Then maybe you shouldn’t of come home and made me think we’re pass this by sleeping with me”. He harshly expressed.
It was a tense night, Mac only came back once to grab his phone, indicting that he was spending what little time left he had to sleep in Bozer’s old room. You barely got any shut eye and when your body finally did let sleep in, morning emerged.
Barley making eye contact, Mac disappeared into the bathroom. You rubbed the side of your neck where a knot was forming. Remembering Matty’s words of advice you couldn’t let this continue. Luckily, Mac hadn’t locked the door. You set aside any residue anger and joined him under the hot water.
He turned when he felt a gentle hand on his back. Looking up with apologetic eyes, you half expected him to walk out. Instead, Mac pinned your wet body against the glass shower screen. “Are we done with all the arguing, or have you come in here to repeat last night with me?”. He questioned in a soft hushed tone.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t of let you think things were okay between us when I was still mad”. Glancing away, Mac dipped his head planting kisses along your neck. Without breaking the flow he continued down, spreading apart your legs to gain more access. Closing your eyes to enjoy the sensation, at this point you weren’t going to hold it against him if he took a page out of your book – the same one you used on him last night. “Mac”, breathing out, although you were certain it sounded more like a moan.
Mac’s lips brushed along your ear lobe. “Shh, we’re putting last night and everything else behind us. You forgive me, I forgive you”. Spinning you around to rotate your ass into his crotch, you felt him harden. “We have about an hour before we need to get ready for work. So unlike last night, this time we’re actually going to make love instead of pretending too, understand?”. Nodding, Mac made sure dominance dripped from his every word.
“I want to hear you say it, Y/N”.
“I understand”.
Capturing your lips on his, he proudly mumbled. “That’s my girl”.
You and Mac walked hand in hand into The Phoenix, Matty stood at the door, the others already inside waiting for the new mission. “It’s good to see you two have worked things out”. She turned her focus onto Mac. “But you’re late, Blondie, so get your ass into the room”.
Mac’s face dropped and you snickered beside him. “What are you laughing at, you’re late too”.
“Yeah, but I wasn’t the one that got in trouble for it”. Smirking at him, “You better get your ass in there, Macgyver”. Cheekily checking him out.
Mac leaned in. “Behave, we’re at work”. Yet again, Matty called out for him to get a move on.
He closed the door, giving his attention to the details of the mission.
You looked over your shoulder and Mac shot you a quick smile, finally the two of you were able to put past worries to rest.
Summary:You’ve known Mac for years, ever since you both attended MIT. Recently, the feelings have grown into more of an romantic nature. One night Mac plans a first date because he feels bad that he never got to take you out on one when you guys first started dating, due to work commitments getting in the way.
Side Note: Inspired by “What Keeps You Up At Night” by Dan + Shay. Listen here. Please listen to the song, it’ll get you into the mood of the imagine and also because it’s good.
Let me leave a little taste on your lips, a little chill running under your skin. So, when it’s a quarter past 3 still thinking ‘bout me.
Girl, I wanna be what keeps you up at night. Tossing and turning, head spinning, like you’re dizzy off of red wine.
“The movie wasn’t that bad”. Mac stated, lacing his hand into yours as the two of you walked out of the cinema’s, braving the cold winter air.
“Oh yeah, then why did you fall asleep for half of it?”.
Mac twirled you around and your back hit the brick wall. He moved a strand of hair, sending chills up your spine due to the way he was looking at you – a mix of desire and love. “Only for the last 10 minutes and the only way you would of known that is if you were staring at me”.
Tugging on his scarf, his lips hovered inches away. “I heard you snore”.
Playfully teasing him.
His hands rested on your waist, you could feel Mac’s warm breath. “I don’t snore, but I do wanna kiss you right now”. Even though the air was cold as an ice cube, being so close to Mac all you could feel was heat running all through your body. He titled his head a little and kissed you like it was the first time he’d ever done so.
“You better be careful, Angus Macgyver, a girl can take that kiss as you’re falling hard for her“.
“I am falling hard for you, a little more every damn day”.
A small lit cafe across the street caught your eye, you pointed it out to Mac and the two of you headed over. Inside reminded you of your grandma’s kitchen and the smell of freshly baked cookies flowed through the room. Mac choose the two seats by the right corner window. The kind middle aged women greeted you with a smile, a tired one, but a smile nonetheless. “What can I get you two?”. Pulling out a pencil and notepad from her apron.
“Just two hot chocolates please”. Mac ordered, knowing that on a night like this hot cocoa was your preferred drink. “Oh, and can we get whipped cream with extra chocolate shavings on one”. Penelope, the waitress, returned back to the counter humming along to herself as she prepared the order. You glanced at Mac, who asked you what was on your mind.
“You always seem to surprise me, that’s all”.
“In a good way, I hope”.
You leaned over, Mac meeting you halfway. “In the best way, baby”. You rarely gave any nicknames to Mac, however, it just slipped so effortlessly out your mouth that it created a whole different kind of mood between the both of you. He turned his neck, kindly asking Penelope if she could make those hot chocolates a take-away instead. She didn’t seem to mind and brought over the drinks, Mac being the ever so gentlemen paid, adding an extra tip on top of the bill.
“Where are we going?”. Wondering as you had no idea what street you were currently walking down.
“I want to show you one last thing before we end this date”. Opening the door to a stairwell, he looked back ever so often to make sure you were still behind him and about 5 flights of stairs later the two of you arrived on a building rooftop.
The stars sparkled above, lights from surrounding buildings gave the city a beautiful glow and as you peered over the edge it amazed you how tiny the people and cars appeared to be from this high up. “Won’t we get in trouble for being out here?”.
Mac hugged you from behind, “I know a guy who owns the building. He won’t mind if we use the roof for a few minutes”.
Breathing in the night, you melted in Mac’s embrace. “This has been the best first, non-first date I’ve ever been on, so thank you for that”.
Spinning you around, it was impossible to not get lost in his eyes. They made you feel like you were the luckiest girl in the world. “I should be thanking you for agreeing to go out with me. Never did I imagine my best friend would one day become my girlfriend”.
“Nor did I”. Smiling back at him. Biting your lip, Mac took it as his cue to lean down and capture you into another whirlwind kiss. You ran your fingers though his blonde locks, relishing in the way he tasted.
After stargazing with the occasional making out on the rooftop, Mac walked you home. There he said goodnight with a simple peck on the cheek, causing you to blush at how proper he was. Watching him leave, you felt like a giddy school girl. He lingered on your mind as you got ready for bed and every few seconds you’d stare at your phone. You didn’t want to seem clingy or desperate, although, you doubted Mac would ever see you that way. Deciding it was better to leave things be, you tired to get some sleep, however, even a few miles away Mac still held a crazy amount of power.
Throwing off the covers, you unplugged your phone charger and dialed his number, nervously biting your nails while you listened to it ring.
“Hello”. His voice sounding slightly groggy.
“I don’t mean to call so late, it’s just-it’s going to sound stuipd”. Sitting on the edge of the bed, staring out at the moon.
You heard Mac shuffle around, the sound of a lamp switching on. “Nothing you say to me could sound stuipd, is everything okay?”.
“I couldn’t sleep and I kinda don’t want the night to end without you. It may sound crazy but do you want to come over, keep me company?”. Butterflies erupted in your stomach, you weren’t usually this bold. Yet, when it came to Mac it felt easy to step out of your comfort zone.
“I’ll be over in 10 minutes”.
The phone clicked and the giddy school girl jumped up with excitement, running to the bathroom to freshen up.
So when you’re wide awake and I’m the only thing on your brain, just call and I’ll be there to fall right in your sheets
When Mac said he’d be over in 10 minutes, he meant it. The doorbell rung and you wasted no time in opening it. He was dressed causal – blue jeans and a grey shirt. This was the part where it felt like you and Mac had just meet, as opposed to knowing one another for years. You two just stared shyly at each another, until Mac took off his leather jacket and smashed his lips upon yours. “Are you sure you wanna, you know take things to the next level?”.
Loosening his belt, you kissed up his neck. “I’m sure, bedroom is the last door on the right”. Wrapping your legs around his waist, he laid you down on the bed. Wiggling out of his jeans, your heart raced seeing the outline of him through his boxers. Hovering above, Mac teased feather kisses, traveling down the valley of your breasts. What happened next was far better then they could ever portray in movies. Mac made sure to be tender but rough, sweet but sexy. Every inch of your body was on fire as Mac touched you.You meet his glaze and with one gentle push you gasped, feeling your walls clutch around Mac.
Gripping his shoulders, your lips brushed along his ear. “Don’t hold back, baby”.
Hearing you call him baby gave Mac a newfound energy, he used your moans and encouragements to give you the best release you’d ever felt. And it wasn’t just once, but multiple times throughout the night that you and Mac became one.
Fluttering your eyes open, Mac’s fingertips glided up your arm. He was unaware that you were intently watching him. “A girl can get use to waking up like this”.
Clearing your throat, it was hoarse from all the times you called out Mac’s name. He handed you a glass of water. “How are you feeling?”.
“Like I just had sex a handful of times last night”.
He laughed at your blunt honestly, “That must of been one lucky guy. He sounds pretty skilled too, if I do say so myself”.
Rolling over, the sheets fell exposing your naked frame to Mac. “Wow, that was-that was smooth”.
Leaning up to kiss you, he subtly flipped you over. The sheets were now a tangled mess and all the room smelled like was Mac’s cologne mixed with sex and the cold morning breeze. “I was thinking we should go get some breakfast”.
Food did sound amazing at this point, however, staying here with Mac outweighed a steamy cup of coffee or soft bagel. “We could, or we could just stay here for a few more hours”.
Cuddling into his chest, Mac’s arms sneaked around you mid-section. “There’s no way I’m going to say no to that”.
He kissed your neck playfully, you letting out a small giggle.
If someone asked you to pick your favourite moment, you wouldn’t be able too. The date, staying half up the night and waking along side Mac didn’t seem real. And if someone asked you how long you wanted to do this for, you wouldn’t hesitate to say forever.

How would you describe being married to one. Even rougher.
It’s been a unstable year for you and Mac. The road bumps started off
small – getting mad at each other for late nights, little arguments that
sparked a few hours of not speaking. Then like anything the bumps
increased in size, growing into hurdles that forced you and Mac to jump –
which lead to the guest room or even couch being used as a second bed
for Mac.
After a strenuous month apart due to a two hour long fight about commitment, trust and the strict demands of two very different jobs – agent and entrepreneur. You hoped smooth
sailing was on the horizon, however, the heavens weren’t on your side
and instead dropped another pesky road bump. This one you should of seen
coming, prepared for even, if only just a little bit. Yet, you kept
pushing it further out of your mind. Thinking that it was no big deal.
Expect, to Mac it was. More then he cared to admit.
Pouring a
glass of
Rosé
wine, you swirled it gently around, bringing the sweet liquor to your
lips. Mac hadn’t moved from the couch since he returned from work. He
took a quick power nap and awoke no more then 20 minutes ago. Flicking
the TV off, he rubbed his sleepy eyes and caught a glimpse of you.
“Isn’t it a bit too cold to be wearing just that?”.
You closed the
laptop lid, reminding yourself that emails could wait until morning. “Since when is me wearing lingerie and a robe been a problem?”.
His
eyes did a quick scan over your choice of sleepwear. Sucking in a tight
breath, “Since we haven’t been imitate in 4 months, and every time I
try you shut me down”. Telling him he was overthinking it too much,
without any sort of delay he disagreed. “Am I?. I want to show you how much I love you and it’s always excuse
after excuse, either you’re too tired or not in the mood”.
Dismissing
his attempt to place all the blame on you, you fired back. “What about
last week when I was in the mood and you brushed me off?”.
Approaching the edge of the counter, Mac’s eyes narrowed together. “I just came back from a 48 hour mission, I was exhausted”.
“So am I most days after my job”. Finishing the glass of wine, although
the argument Mac so abruptly started hindered you from enjoying the
beverage. Poking his board chest, “You have a hand, Mac, jerk yourself
off”.
Normally, he’d find that response amusing or come up with
his own smart-ass comment. Not today. Mac showed no signs of wanting to
engage in cheeky banter with you. “Are you seeing someone else?. Is that
why you’ve been so distant lately”.
“In case you didn’t notice
we’ve both been distant. And I can’t believe that just
come out of your mouth”. Maneuvering around, the small bench behind
you made it convenient for Mac to block you in, all he had to do was
shift his weight to the left.
You could feel his breath, that’s how close the proximity had become. “It’s
a fair question. I’m allowed to ask my wife if she’s been going behind
my back. Maybe you prefer to have another guy touch you”.
Lifting a hand in the air, Mac anticipated the move and his handy agent reflexes caught your wrist mid-air. “Don’t
ever accuse me of cheating on you, Angus. Maybe I should be the one
asking you that question”.
“I love you, I’m committed to only
you”. He closed the last bit of gap. His
fingers glided down your arm, past your elbow, until he reached the silk
fabric. “I’m sorry for accusing you
of being unfaithful. But, I’m going crazy over here. I have needs, ones
that my hands can’t satisfy. Baby, I need you”. Slipping the robe off your right shoulder, he kissed the exposed skin.”Tell me you need me too”. Slowly revealing more and more flesh from him to kiss, he discarded the material, bringing his lips to your ear.
“Tell me you want me to make love to you”.
“Mac". Uttering his name ever so softy to the point where it sounded almost inaudible.
“I’m serious, Y/N. I want-need to hear you say it”. The yearning in his voice couldn’t be missed or mistaken for anything other then an aching longing for you, for love. It matched perfectly with the tent forming in his jeans, another part of him that was also eagerly craving you. A simple yes would settle this entire ordeal, one word from you and at least one of the walls threatening to block this marriage from succeeding would be removed. To break the silence Mac toyed with the clasp on the bra, coaxing his head and displaying a sly smirk. As you were busy distracted by what his hand was doing above your waist, his other brushed along your inner thigh.
Breathless from just a few touches, you knew it was your bodies way of screaming to take the win and let Mac ravish you in nothing but sweet, sweet love. Knowing that Mac was dying to get out of the constrictions preventing him from springing free, you did the honors. “I want you to make love to me”.
There was no time to make it to the bedroom, so carefully laid out on the floor Mac tossed aside your underwear and the two of you got lost in the euphoric feeling of each other’s bodies.
When you awoke the floor was now a soft mattresses, leaning on your elbows Mac wasn’t laying beside you. Instead, he was fully dressed, back towards you. “Mac?”. Holding the sheets close to your body.
“Why did you agree to marry me?”. He faced you. Shoulders tense, eyes flickering between anger and confusion. “Why exchange vows with me?”.
Not understanding what had him all fired up, you grabbed the robe tying it around your frame. “Because I love you”.
He rudely scoffed, something you hadn’t seen him do before. Tossing papers onto the bed, you noticed one word written in big, bold letters – divorce. Shutting your eyes, he found the papers. Ones that you never intended to sign. Nonetheless, that fact wouldn’t matter to Mac. All he saw was you secretly had them drawn up and purposely hid them from him. “Forgive me if I don’t believe that after coming across these”.
Reaching out to comfort him, Mac flinched away. “I got them after we spent that month apart. Ask Riley, the papers mean nothing”.
“Do you think that in anyway makes me feel better?”.
Combing his fringe with his fingers, Mac’s chest rose up and down. “Why did we get married in the first place if a year into our marriage you’re thinking about divorcing me?”. As you moved your hands, the robe hiked up. Mac’s eyes darted to your legs, admiring every inch of skin on display. Shaking away the conflict between his heart and head, he slightly scrunched up his hand. “I’m not going to let you be the only one to decide if this marriage ends”.
“That’s not what I’m trying to do, Mac”.
It’s like your response left a sour taste in the room. He waved the papers in the air, “Then explain why you kept these divorce papers”. Wishing you could rewind back to a few hours before, this wasn’t how you envisioned or wanted married life with Mac to be like – fighting, making up, another argument, then having to go through it again.Lately, that was all the relationship consisted of and it reached an exhausting peak fairly quickly. “Answer me, Y/N. Why did you keep them?”.
“I forgot I had them!”. Crying out, praying that he believed you.
“Something like divorce papers is hard to forget, don’t you think?”.
Falling on the bed. “I’m human. I had doubts, just like you had at the start of our relationship. You kept pushing me away because you said it was too dangerous for me to love you. I forgave you for that, we worked past that. We can do it again”.
Staring down, his face appeared to soften and just when you thought there was hope of survival, Mac destroyed it with one stroke of a pen. “You want a divorce so
badly”. Signing his name on the dotted line, Mac threw the pen and gave
you a piercing stare. “Your wish just came true”. Turning on his heel,
the door slammed shut. With shaking hands you picked up the papers,
holding back the noticeable tears that wanted to spill out.
Staring
aimlessly at the glowing fire embers, your eyes felt dry and puffy. The
papers sat beside you, crinkled with the tears that won – ones that you
couldn’t hold back anymore. Mac had stormed out 6 hours ago. It was hard to determine where he went. Jack’s place seemed like the obvious choice, The Phoenix was another top contender and a drive to no destination in particular also made it on the list. However, the only place you wanted him to be was home, with you.
“What are you still doing here?”. Mac stood at the foot of the terrace stairs, baffled as to why you hadn’t left.
Standing up, wiping the nervous sweat off your palms on the back of your washed out dark blue jeans. “Please, just listen to what I have to say”.
Cautiously walking over, he stood a few feet away. “I did, I gave you what you wanted”.
“I never said I-”.
Mac interrupted, his voice hollow but yet strangely calm. “You can keep the ring and whatever you want to take from the house. If you need help with-”.
“Angus Macgyver!”. He didn’t falter when you shouted his full name in a desperate plea. “I don’t
want our marriage to end. After I got the papers drawn up, Riley
convinced me not to sign. Then we made up, remember?. It was like that night we couldn’t get enough of one another. On the couch, kitchen counter, bedroom, shower”. It almost looked like Mac was going to smile, but his facial expression stayed neutral. “And I know I never should of kept them, it was stuipd of me to even have them drawn up in the first place. But, I was confused and after what we said to each other during the fight, I thought that was it for us”. Turning to the last page, you extended it out to Mac. “You said to me that I shouldn’t be the only one to decide if our
marriage ends, and you were right. I know that I don’t want to give up, but if you do then”. Choking on the words, you swallowed the lump. “Then I’ll sign”.
He took it from your hands, thinking it over while looking
at his signature itched on the paper. Stepping forward, your heart
drummed against your chest. Mac whispered for you to make eye contact, when
eyes meet in the middle he threw the pages into the burning flames. His
lips grazed over yours, a teasing taste before deepening it with everything he had. “Til death do us part”.
Summary: Mac needed some time away, but when he returns will he be forgiven?.

But these places and these faces are getting old, so I’m going home
Mac POV
I gripped the balcony fence. I came here to get my head in place, to come to terms with my father being Overwatch – and with it the shocking revelation that he’d been secretly hiding in plain sight. But, it hadn’t worked in the way I hoped it would.
Looking out at the waves lightly crashing onto the rocks, the place changed a little since last I was here. The villa remained the same, interior wise. However, there was a fundamental piece missing to make this destination feel like paradise – her. The last time I was here was for our honeymoon. We only left the room a handful of times. I glanced down, smiling at the memory of Y/N dragging my ass out of the bed to take a midnight stroll along the shore. The only thing I wanted to do, from morning to night, was make love to her. But, she insisted that we had to see a little bit of the island, even buy a few souvenirs for the team. It all seemed like a lifetime ago. We were happy. I was happy.
With the ocean in sight and her in mind I dragged my suitcase out from the closet. I had been away for too long. It was time to return home.
Normal POV
You watched as Logan excitedly laughed at the birds that flew in every direction when he came charging at them. He stumbled over his feet, nothing but happiness plastered on his face.
“How you holding up?”. Jack came up behind, helping you stack the dishes.
Shooting him a weak smile, “Fine”.
“If you want Logan can stay with me tonight?. Give you a little free time to relax, maybe go out with Riley for a girls night”.
Scrubbing down the bench, you shot a glance out the window to make sure Logan was doing okay. He ran after Riley and Bozer who let him catch them. He broke out into a smile, reminding you so much of Mac. “Thanks Jack, but that’s not necessary”.
There was a hefty pause on Jack’s end. He tired to hide it by clearing his throat, but you knew how to read the signs. “He will come back”. Placing a comforting hand on your right shoulder. “After finding out about his dad he just needed time. Mac loves the two of you more then anything, he’d never leave Logan the way his dad left him”.
Pushing back the tears, you remembered the night Mac came home only uttering four words to you, “I quit the Phoenix”. Then throughout the week he’d become different – distant. And finally he did the one thing you dreaded, he decided to leave. Backing up his decision by telling you he needed to find a way to keep his head on straight so he could be the best husband and father – that was two months ago. “Actually, can you take him just for tonight?”.
Jack seemed surprised at your change of heart, normally that wouldn’t be in the case. “Yeah, yeah, whatever you need”.
Calling Logan inside, he ran over, flustered and tired from all the exercise he’d done out on the front lawn. Crouching down to his eye level, “How would you like to stay with uncle Jack for the night?”. His face lit up. He loved Jack, the whole team even. And he only grew closer to them since Mac left.
Helping pack an overnight bag, you noticed Logan staring down at his hands. He sniffled, his eyes briefly
turning towards the unfinished robot he and Mac were building together. Sitting him on the edge of the bed, you knelt in front. “Do you want to tell me what’s on your mind, my sweet little man”.
“Is dad going to come back?”. There was hope in his voice, just like every other time he’d ask about Mac. He was a very observant five year old, something he inherited from his father. And while he didn’t understand the reason why Mac left, he did notice fairly quickly that he wasn’t away on some long mission.
Pulling him into a hug, you kissed his forehead. “I don’t know, baby. But I do know he loves you very much”. You prayed on some level it brought him a little bit of ease to a rather complicated situation. Showering him with kisses, he wriggled in your lap – giggling. “Are we all packed for uncle’s Jack?”.
He nodded, dragging his backpack to meet Jack out in the hallway. “Ready to go and have some fun with the best uncle in the world?”. Logan threw his hands in the air,
thrilled at the prospect of getting candy and cake. He waved goodbye to you. Bozer helped buckle him in the car and Riley took the passenger seat.
“I’ll look after him, don’t worry he’ll be safe”. Jack reassured.
With now a lot of spare time on your hands, it felt odd being the only one in the house. Tidying up the living room, purely to keep yourself busy, you reached over the cabinet to grab the toy dice Logan threw behind. The tip of your elbow knocked over a frame, causing you to drop the toy and cruse. Carefully brushing away the broken shards, you picked up the photo and your chest became heavy. It was the first family photo you guys took, the day at the hospital when Logan was born. Clutching the edge of the cabinet, you let the tears flow. Every part of your heart missed Mac. Bringing your knees closer to your chest, through blurred eyes you stared at Mac’s smiling face, wishing he was here.
What you didn’t know was that wish had come true. Mac peered around the corner, making sure to stay out of sight and watched as you cried.
Jack’s House
“Don’t tell your mum about this”. He sheepishly grinned at Logan who motioned his cake stained lips were sealed. Setting the channel to a kid friendly show, Jack waltzed over to answer the door. He’d asked Bozer to drop off some healthy-ready meals since his fridge was mostly stocked with beer and steak. “I’ve swore Logan to secrecy and that also means you too Boz-”. He stared at his guest. Jack rarely got caught off guard. This was perhaps one of those rare occasions when his brain did more of the work then his mouth. “Mac, I wasn’t-”.
“Expecting me, yeah, the look on your face gives it away”. Out of nowhere a tiny human hurled themselves in Mac’s arms, holding on ever so tightly. “Hey, little man. I’ve missed you like crazy”.
Logan touched Mac’s cheeks, squeezing and poking. He nuzzled in the crock of Mac’s neck, whispering. “You came back”.
“I will always come back, you and your mum are the most important part of my life”. Hating to break up a much needed reunion, Jack politely asked Logan to go play while he and Mac have a grown up conversation. “So, how badly did I screw things up?”.
“With Logan not much, with your wife I’d start working on a heartfelt apology”.
“What can I possibly say to her, Jack?. That I’m sorry for leaving, that I’m a selfish idiot?”. He replied.
“How about you just start with I love you”.
Mac sunk into the couch, tapping his fingers against the beer bottle.
“Will she even believe me?”.
Jack chuckled, knowing exactly how stubborn you could get. “She’ll make you work for it that’s for sure”. Mac cracked a smile. “It’s good to have you back, man. You’re family missed you, the team included”.
“I missed everyone too”. Mac titled his head, looking at the hallway seeing Logan chase down a small ball. “It’s only been a couple of months but his gotten so big”.
“They grow up fast, or so I’m told. Did you want to spend some time with him?”. Jack suggested, seeing the yearning look in Mac’s eyes.
“I want too, but I think I should go fix things with my wife first”. Taking a quick sip of courage, he exhaled, reaching for the door handle. “Wish me luck”.
Mac’s House
After the mini breakdown you went ahead and pampered yourself with a short shopping spree. It had been so long since you did something simple as walk through the mall without a restless five year old by your side. Kicking shut the door, an unexpected voice startled you. “Need any help?”. Mac came out of the bedroom, freshly showered and sporting a casual stance like he’d been here the whole time as opposed to being gone for two months.
“I got it, thanks”. Coldly pushing past him to set the bags down.
He followed you to the living room, intently observing the way you straightened up the magazines on the coffee table, even though most were already neatly stacked. “I saw Logan, he-”.
“What are you doing?”. Interrupting him.
“I was building up to an apology”. He replied. Mac laid his hand on top of yours, preventing you from sliding the ring on and off your finger. “I’m sorry for putting you and Logan through the last two months. With my dad being Overwatch, I let my anger for him cloud my emotions. I shouldn’t of left”.
“Okay”. Patting him on the chest, acknowledging his apology.
“That’s it, just okay?”. Mac asked, stunned your reaction.
Shrugging your shoulders, “What did you expect?”.
“A little more emotion from my wife”.
“I’m afraid she’s all out. Taking care of a five year old by herself and trying to explain why his dad just up and left has been an emotional roller coaster. So, I’m sorry if I’m not welcoming you home in the way that you hoped”. Jabbing a few shots his way.
Mac sighed, rubbing the corner of his eyes. “I don’t want to fight with you. I just want us to start over”. His breath ran along your skin, lingering. “I’m home, I’m here”. Home – it’s where you wanted him to come back too. And he did. Mac was standing before you – close enough to touch, close enough to love again. He softly uttered your name. An underlying desperation for you to say something, to let him know that you wanted and needed him just like before he’d left.
“You’re here today, what about tomorrow or the next day?. What if you leave again?”.
He held up his left hand, showcasing the thick silver band wrapped around his wedding finger. The one symbolizing a promise of commitment and love. “I’m going to tell you the same thing I told our son. I will always come back, you and him are the most important part of my life. I love you”.
Leaning up, lips almost touched. A cautious move just in case your mind stubbornly changed it’s mind. However, Mac left no room for doubt to kick in and pressed his lips, hard, against yours. Body on body, Mac skillfully pulled you onto his lap without so much as breaking the lustful lip-lock. The heat between each other took full control and you let him take care of your body.
Sprawled out across the carpet, limbs tangled and sweat sticking on skin, Mac bit his lip watching you come down from the body rippling high. “What is it?”. You asked, breathless.
“I’m just thinking about something Jack said”.
Arching your eyebrow, “Should I be insulted that you’re thinking about Jack after we just made love?”.
Mac heartily chuckled, kissing the top of your nose. “He told me you’d make me work hard for an apology. And after what we just did, I can officially say you’ve worn me out more so then any mission I’ve done”.
Proudly smiling at him, you run a hand across his bare chest. “Well, you have 2 months to make up for“.
“And did I, make up for those 2 months?”. He asked, titling his head to the side.
“It’s a work in progress”.
Mac moaned as your hand started to take care of his already semi-hardened member, ready and waiting for another round. In the background your phone beeped and you knew what it was alerting you to. “Where are you going?”. He groaned.
“To go get our son”. Reaching over to grab the discarded black tank top. Mac threw it to the side again, causing you to give him an disapproving look, one that you mostly reserved for Logan when he wouldn’t listen. “You realize you’re getting that, right?”.
He kissed along the side of your neck and across your shoulder, fondling your breasts in his large hands. “How about we let him stay with Jack for a few more hours, while we have an adult only, second honeymoon”. His fingertips glided down your stomach and across your thigh, repeating the action but much slower the second time around.
“After all, I still have 2 months of making up to do”.
Smirking, bringing you back down for another sizzling apology.
