10 with dany and asha greyjoy

thenoblehouseofdayne:

The invasion of the Seven Kingdoms had been going poorly. After Euron Greyjoy decimated what remained of the naval fleet, Asha had barely been rescued, and scrambling to reclaim the campaign from the jaws of defeat.

This had inspired a bit of tension between the Khaleesi and the Greyjoy, one of the rushed decisions costing Danaerys one of her dragons and tilting the odds further towards the Lannister army advancing on the North.

This morning, they’d been bickering over a decision to abandon the Reach and focus more on the evacuation of the Wildlings, with the assistance of Jon Snow.

It had been close to an hour of fighting before you’d finally spoken up. “Ladies!”

They both turned to you, frustrated and at the end of their tethers.

Surely, the three of us can work something out? Dany, you’re a Queen, and one of the strongest women I’ve ever met. You’ll succeed. The Gods wouldn’t have it any other way, or they’d have an issue with me. And Asha-” you turned to her, giving her a heavy look. “Losing was difficult for all of us, you the most so, but you have to trust that we know what we’re doing. Let someone else talk sometimes, and know that we’ll listen to you when the time comes.”

Both glanced at each other, and begrudgingly offered apologies, before turning back to the task at hand, albeit more calmly than before.

You turned to Tyrion Lannister, who was watching you with an degree of respect. “That’s why they need a mediator.” You concluded with a tiny wink.

Still my favorite story from the Lord of the Rings set: Viggo Mortensen bonded so much with the horse he rode in the movies that after filming was over he bought it from its owner. If that doesn’t warm your heart I don’t know what could.

don’t forget that he also bought arwen’s horse for her stunt rider when she couldn’t afford it awww

#also don’t forget that for the rohirrim they put a call out for locals #bring a horse show us you can ride it and get a part in the battle scenes #and one women went out roped a wild horse and rode for a few days to set #and got to be a rider of rohan

also sort of relevant viggo also bought the horse that costarred with him in the movie hidalgo and subsequently took the horse (tj) with him to the red carpet premier.

Also most of the Riders of Rohan are actually women because when they put out that call mostly women showed up with their horses and the costume team just stuck beards on them.

if this isn’t the best post i don’t

So you’re saying the entire Rohan army could have killed the Witch-King of Angmar.

Witch King: No living man can kill me!

several thousand riders of Rohan: *rip their fake beards off*

Witch King: Oh fuck…

*screeches* We aRE NO MEN

You know, one thing i like about Mulan is how Yao, Ling and Chien Po don’t really seem to care about the fact that Mulan is a girl.

I mean, when they find out, they are visibly perplexed

image

But even so, they rush and try to help her when she’s about to get killed

image

After this, they all seem quite depressed about having to leave her behind (and when Shang ignores her)

image

image

And when she shows up and takes action, they gladly follow her lead

image

And they even rock some crossdressing, like she did

image

(btw they just missed a great opportunity to make Shang crossdress here, shame on you movie)

image

Honestly, i just think this needs more appreciation. Because to them, Mulan didn’t have to prove herself again, just because she is a girl. She already earned their friendship and respect when she was ‘Ping’, and that was enough.
