{I thought I could combine these two requests into one (slightly changing the both), and fulfill a request that’s been on my dash since the beginning of the blog. Hope you enjoy!}
You weren’t used to the attention you received being at Oberyn’s side. You’d gone from being the unknown daughter of a Dornish lord, to being the sidearm of one of the most notoriously independent men in the Seven Kingdoms, and that turned a lot of heads. Men and women gossiped and tore into you, searching every scrap of your past to find something to discredit you, and conjured what they could not find.
Oberyn had found you, only a month into your engagement, hidden in an empty bedroom, wiping your red eyes after a former fling of his had cornered you and accused you of being a venomous snake who’d stolen the love of her life from her. He comforted you, and removed the woman who’d inflicted such pain, reassuring you that you were to be his wife, and while you wouldn’t be his only lover, you were his priority.
“You affix metal and wires to your teeth…use needles to inject portraits into your skin…stab your flesh with shards of metal…remove your hair with lasers…cut patterns into your faces…burn yourselves…remove fat and break your noses and inject diseases into yourselves willingly. Why?”
And we answered “For beauty.”
Fireworks confused them. “These horrible explosions, with their colors and patterns? Is this an act of war, or is it in worship of some god?”
We answered, “No. It is in celebration.”
Explaining vaccines was difficult. “You give yourself disease on purpose? You force it into your blood with needles? Why?”
We answered, “To teach our bodies to resist it.”
They felt awe at our true wars. At our missiles that harnessed the power found in stars, at our weapons that spread poison and disease, at our flying machines that destroyed thousands while we flew them from continents away. They asked, “For what reasons do you go to war?”
We answered, “To gain money and resources, to exact revenge, to impose and uphold faith and ideology, and, now and then, on our best days, to answer a cry for help.”
They asked us, “The moon is barren, and yet you went. Mount Everest is a deadly place, and yet you go. The ocean is vast and frightful and travel to its depths is near impossible, and yet you are trying to dive. Why?”
We answered, “To show that we could, to show that we can, to show that we will.”
They asked, “Why?”
We answered, “Because how dare there be questions unanswered, realms unexplored, lands unconquered. How dare this reality not fall under our command. We will rule this universe or we will die trying.”
Me- I don’t wanna go to class today. I feel out of it

I swear this post is blessed or something because I said “I want a reason to go somewhere” while looking at this post and then pretty much just after, my mother asked me to go to the store to get some eggs since I used the last 2
I’ve just realised. Stan Lee will have a cameo in every single one of the MCU films from the original generation, but he wont be in any of the new gen films. Avengers 4 marks the end of the road for some of the OG Avengers, and it’s also the end of the road for Stan.
They’ve already got Captain Marvel ready to go, and they’ve finished all the filming for Avengers 4, so he’ll be in both of those movies, but then everything that comes after – Spidey Far From Home and onwards – he wont be in. All the new gen films.
What I’m saying is, whichever original Avengers we permanently lose in A4, we’re losing Stan at the same time. He’s going out at the same time as them. A4 marks the end of an era, and that’s the film that his cameos will end with. That’s….. actually kind of fitting, really. He’s going out at the end of an era.
