These Florida kids are not fucking around.

The kids’ response to the shooting has been something truly incredible.

Normally, it’s always been very young children and it’s only their parents that can speak about it. The narrative gets controlled, the conspiracy theorists talk about how it’s all an act, so much bullshit.

But these are kids who are active on social media, incredibly close to voting age, and they’re demanding their voices are heard. Every single thing that downplays, dismisses or conspiracies the shooting has been subverted by their efforts, and they’re not letting adults who’ve never lived what they lived through control the narrative.

“It was a conspiracy!” “No, we have video evidence of it happening.” “Shouldn’t you be calling 911 instead of making videos?” “We called 911 so many times they told us to stop.” “But he was a troubled child!” “We were ALL troubled, that’s no excuse.” And it just goes on like this.

Honestly, I’m so proud of my fellow Floridians.

I said to my husband the other day that “This one feels different”, referring to this precisely.

The whole energy around it feels different. These kids are not having this bullshit, and while they should not have to stand their ground and fight this battle, goddamn it they are going to. If the adults won’t, then goddamn it these kids will draw a fucking line and say ‘no, no more, this is bullshit’.

I don’t know what it means, or how it will play out long term. But there’s a sense around this whole tragedy that this one is different, and I hope, maybe, that means some actual change will come.

Hey what the fuck happened to all the net neutrality coverage

This shit is still happening people, and all of the sudden its disappeared from my dash almost entirely over night

I don’t know why, but I think people are automatically being unfollowed from the Net Neutrality tag. It happens to me every time I try to follow it. I’ll follow the tag, come back 20 minutes later & I’ll for some reason have unfollowed the tag automatically. I think this may be happening to a majority of people in an attempt to silence the resistance. Please take a screen shot of this post in case it gets deleted.

hey yeah can yall reblog this cause this is very important. Tumblr is ACTIVELY trying to silence out outrage at this by making us incapable of seeing coverage of events. We’re all gonna have to come together and step up about this.

Every little note counts, spread the word, dont give in so easily

I just checked this and i can CONFIRM that tumblr AUTOMATICALLY MAKES YOU UNFOLLOW THE NET NEUTRALITY TAGS AFTER 20 MINUTES

Please spread the word! Screen shot this post just in case it gets deleted!!

There is a reason that happens.  Tumblr is OWNED by Verizon who is a leader in throwing money at getting rid of Net Neutrality.  They have spent literally millions to bring it down so that they can charge you more, slow down your internet and block you from sites they do not deem appropriate.  Keep sending in letters, emails and making phone calls.  IF you post about it ADD links for FS!

IT’S OFFICIAL. There will be a national school walkout on March 14th. This walkout demands action to finally be taken on gun violence. No more students deserve to be gunned down because lawmakers don’t wanna do anything about it. We are the generation that’s being affected the most by these weak gun laws, and WE are the ones who should be protesting about it. One student dying because of a gunman is one too many. SPREAD THE WORD, this applies to ALL students!!

@weavemama What if our spring break falls on that day? How else can we pitch in?

There’s another walkout date on April 20th! For the 18th anniversary of Columbine.

OKAY!!! REALLY QUICK CAUSE YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS!!

#1: YOUR RIGHTS DO NOT END ONCE YOU WALK INTO THE SCHOOL! You need to take a good long look at your rights and civil liberties because they will be called into question. I would strongly advise contact an ACLU representative and asking them about this so you are prepared to defend yourselves from a legal stand point because the shit is going to hit the fan and it’s going to hit it hard.

#2: DO NOT RISE OR RESPOND TO THREATS! There will be threats. They will threaten to put you in detention, call your parents, expel you, get rid of your extra curricular activities, et cetera. Anything they can to control the situation  before the media gets involved or the school board. You must have solidarity within your participants, lock arms, form prayer circles, sit down and do not stand. Do whatever it takes to show a non-violent, passive approach to show that it is your intention to disrupt and draw attention to the problem without being physically confrontational.

#3: SELECT A SPEAKER! Sooner or later, camera crews are going to show up. This is where messages get mixed and it becomes very easy to loose track of your goals. Draft a short speech, under 30 seconds, and select a speaker for your school who will address the media with the concerns of the student body and the demands you have before you will return to school and your education.

#4: TAKE YOUR EDUCATION INTO YOUR OWN HANDS! This is not a chance to take advantage and get some time off school. The media WILL USE THIS as an excuse to discredit you. If you can, get teachers on board who will provide you with a curriculum that you can continue to work on from home. Do NOT GIVE UP YOUR EDUCATION! Refuse to participate in a government funded system of education which denies you basic safety.

#5: If you can, GET YOUR TEACHERS INVOLVED! Is there a teacher your trust as a group? Is there a teacher who would offer their support, voice and guidance during this walk out? Get them involved. I know it’s not fair, but teen voices are underrated and overlooked. Having an adult head the operation or at the very least being willing to speak out IN YOUR FAVOR ON CAMERA will go a long way to adding legitimacy to your cause! Remember, their lives are in danger too, and more than once a teacher has put themselves between the shooter and their students. Ask them to be a part of this if you can.

This one is pretty fucking serious. It’s not about voter fraud, it’s about shitcanning everyone’s ability and right to vote.

Instead of being elected by the people, Senators would be chosen by the State legislatures, guaranteeing that the majority party would pick Senators of their own party.

If there is a vacancy the Governor would appoint a Senator for the remainder of the term. The pick could not be changed by the legislature or the public.

State legislators can recall a Senator at any time.

.If successful, they will reverse one of the great strides toward democracy in American history: the 1913 decision to end the corrupt practice of letting state legislators barter off Senate seats in backroom deals with campaign donors and lobbyists.

It seems gerrymandering the House is not enough for Republicans who want to completely shut out opposing voices. Yet, gerrymandering does fit with a long-term plan to turn America into a permanent single-party-rule nation.

With control of 32 state legislatures, the GOP would have an easy time hand-picking fascist-conservatives to fill up the senate.

WHAT. THE FUCK

This means, as long as one party can gerrymander their statehouses, they can pick their senators too.

See, they call themselves the “silent majority” which is a lie they very much are the political minority.

Usually, the only way they’re able to win elections (whether they be national or state wide) is by dishonesty, lies, trickery, double speak, and making voting polls difficult to reach.

Pathetic.
