Side Note: I literally just made up the names in this imagine, the first name that came to my head I just wrote down. Also I hope you like the little crossover between shows 😛

“The point of this vacation is to relax”. Mac entered the room with a towel wrapped around his waist, giving off a disapproved look when he saw you sneakily responding to an email from your phone.

Placing the device on the bedside drawers, you grinned at your half-naked fiancé. “I relaxed very well the night we got here, last night and this morning”. Ticking it all off in your head, like a checklist, the amount of times you and Mac got hot and sweaty. “If I relax anymore I’m going to melt into the bed sheets”.

Arching his brow up, he strutted over. “Is that so?”. Using that husky tone to tease you. “Well then, let’s test that theory”. A deep growl escaped from his throat as he picked you up and carefully laid you out on the bed. His blue eyes looking down, reminding you of a pool filled only with love.

“More doing, less teasing, Macgyver”. Taking the initiative this time, Mac had no protests and let you straddle him. As things were progressing smoothly, the piercing sound of two ringtones filled the room.

Underneath you, Mac chanted. “Please don’t let it be work, please don’t let it be work”. Reaching over, you showed Mac the screen and it had Matty written in big bold letters. He threw his head back against the pillows, while you answered the call. The conversation lasted only about 30 seconds – quick and straight to the point.

“Mac, we have to go. It sounds pretty urgent”. Climbing off, each of you started to individual pack the suitcases and judging from how Mac was throwing the clothes in, he was pissed. To try and soothe the tension, you rubbed his back. “We can always re-book our vacation”. Hoping that the idea of looking forward to another weekend getaway would get him to ease up – it didn’t.

He roughly zipped up the suitcase, pushing it away so he could sit down on the edge of the bed. “That’s not the point. We had so many things planned, just you and me”. Kneeling down in front of him, those eyes that were filled with love were now replaced with sadness. “I love my job. But I just wanted one weekend where all we had to worry about was what to order from room service”.

Knowing exactly how he felt, it was tough. And even if you were an agent for years, it still wasn’t any easier. Sitting up, you gave Mac a reassuring kiss. “I promise you, we’ll get our weekend”.

He didn’t look convinced, but you shrugged it off for the time being and the two of you jetted back to Phoenix headquarters.

For the whole flight home Mac wore a sour expression, he explicitly stated to Matty no interruptions. However, he couldn’t put the blame on her, you guys made an oath to protect the country and receiving phone calls at ridiculous times, or during private moments was just one of the many sacrifices an agent made for their job.

“So nice of you guys to join us. I’m sorry for cutting the vacation short, but this can’t wait”. Matty spoke as you and Mac walked in.

“What are we dealing with?”. Mac asked, arms crossed standing beside Jack.

As you ventured further into the war room you noticed another male figure. “Reid?”. Breaking out in a smile, you took three large steps and brought him into a friendly hug.
“What are you doing here?”.

In the background Mac shifted uncomfortably, a hard glare aimed at Reid.

Matty injected, answering the question. “The Behavioral Analysis Unit is here for our help with a case”. Tapping her finger on the screen a photo of a man popped up. “Remember the drug smuggling ring leader that we caught a few months ago?. Well he just made bail, an unknown individual paid it a week ago”. She nodded to Reid for him to continue.

Facing the rest of the team, he spoke. “Since then the FBI has kept surveillance on Joe, the international drug lord you guys caught, because we believe his responsible for two kidnappings”. He clicked the screen and two women’s faces appeared. “Allison who was the first and just recently Beth”.

Jack crossed his arms, “So why come to us?. We don’t do kidnappings”.

“Because you know him better than we do, your intel could be just what we need in order to catch this guy and whoever bailed him out”. Reid shot you a glance, you returned a small smile.

Mac cleared his throat. “And how are we suppose to help?”.

“By using that big genius brain of yours, Blondie”. Matty sarcastically replied. Her tone returning to a more serious one. “This case is essentially the FBI’s, all we’re doing is assisting. Y/N you’ll be going with Spencer to check out the latest crime scene. Jack and Mac you’ll be heading off to where the rest of the team has set up at the local police station. And Riley you’ll be staying here and joining forces with their tech analyst Gracia”. She gave each of them a stern look. “We’re against the clock, let’s do everything we can do bring these women home. Got it?”.

Everyone nodded and split off into their respective teams. Mac already wanting this mission to be over, so the two of you could go back to the romantic vacation he planned.

Crime Scene

Reid flashed his badge to gain access to the crime scene. You remembered your FBI days fondly. All the cases you worked with the team, the victims, the criminals – memories like those were hard to forget.

Scanning the scene while Reid talked to the acting officer, something didn’t feel right. The house seemed too in order, like it had been neatly cleaned up. Reid joined, informing you that there were no witness despite the neighbour only been a small one. He then went on to say the 911 call came from Beth herself.

“I have a bad feeling about this, Spence”. Frowning as the two of you stepped out to the front lawn. “This seems very calculated, perfectly planned, something that Joe couldn’t of done”.

He removed his shades, sitting them atop of his head. “What are you thinking?”.

Turning to glance up him, “That whoever bailed him out is responsible for the kidnappings. And that Joe is nothing more than his sidekick”. Twirling Mac’s engagement ring, it was a regular habit out of sheer nervousness. Previously it used to be a thick black band around your wrist, although, that was no longer in your possession – stolen by a man who you’d rather never think of again.

An officer ran straight ahead, frantic, shouting that a suspicious male figure had been seen inside the house. Running towards the hallway, Reid in tow. You scanned each room carefully and quickly. Moving onto the laundry, Joe shot right from the corner. Demanding he stop, he didn’t listen. Before you had the chance to draw a weapon, he pushed you roughly against the counter, your head colliding with the upper cabinet.

Reid rushed over, you told him that you were alright and to go catch Joe. He nodded and aided the police. Getting up slowly, you winched, feeling a warm trail of blood.

“Hey, hey, take it easy”. Reid shortly came back, carefully taking your arm and leading you to the nearest chair.

“I’m fine, just got a minor headache”. He ignored you and motioned for someone to get the paramedic, not leaving your side until everything was in the clear.

Joining Reid in his FBI vehicle after the medical check up, your injury didn’t need any stitches, just some disinfectant and a bandage. The ride to the police station consisted of nothing but staring out the window. The bad feeling growing as the station loomed near.

Police Station

Walking in you were greeted with hello’s and how are you’s from JJ, Prentiss, and Rossi, while the newest members of the FBI team introduced themselves. They caught you up with what they found on their end, giving you a brief profile of who they thought bailed Joe out. Upon entering the conference room kindly giving to the team by the Sheriff, Jack commented on your injury, Mac’s head shooting right up.

He wasted no time in rushing to your side, touching your forehead lightly with his index finger. “I’m fine, just a small cut”. Reassuring him.

“I should of gone with you”.

“That wasn’t Matty’s orders, I’m okay, Mac. Reid was there and-”. His face remained neutral but his eyes gave away a slight ping of jealously. “I’m okay”. Choosing to not finish the previous sentence and instead gave him another shot of reassurance.

Prentiss entered the room, giving you a look you knew all too well. “He says he’ll only speak to you, Y/N”.

“Is that such a wise choice?”. Jack questioned from the corner of the room.

“It’s that only option we’ve got”. Rossi interjected, taking a sip of his coffee.

Exhaling, your eyes fixed on the interrogation door. Not saying a word, you walked towards it, hand shaking as it twisted the handle. Once you were inside your old FBI mindset took charge. Slamming a file onto the table, Joe didn’t flinch.

“Tell me where to find Allison and Beth?”. Sternly demanding.

He chuckled, shot you a glare and bit the inside of his lip. “He was right, you are a feisty one”.

“Who was right?”. That bad feeling now tying into tight knots in your stomach.

Joe leaned forwards as much as the handcuffs would allow. Lowering his voice, his eyes firmly on you. “He ain’t done with you yet. Sweetheart, Grayson’s just getting started”. Laughing like an evil mad man, your heart quickened.

Snatching the file, the door slammed behind you causing all heads to turn. Concerned faces from the team came into view, however to you, each were just blurry figures. You breathed, inhaling and exhaling to return your heart rate to normal.

Mac’s hand reached out, but before any contact was made Reid rushed over. Clinging onto his arm you whispered one word – Grayson. Jack and Mac both exchanged confused expressions, while JJ, Prentiss and Rossi’s eyes widened knowing exactly what that name meant.

“If his involved those two women are in a lot more danger than we originally thought. JJ stated.

Prentiss nodded, “It’s time to deliver the profile”. Taking lead, every officer gathered around the desks, listening intently as the profile of Grayson was being delivered. He was described as extremely dangerous, unpredictable and cunning. His build was strong as well as tall, sprouting blue eyes, ash blonde hair and a eagle tattoo inked on the back of his neck.

After the short briefing it was all hands on deck. Gracia and Riley were on loud speaker, coordinating what they’d found. While Riley was tracking his phone and going through city surveillance cameras, Gracia was gathering last purchases made via credit cards, movement in the last 6 months and anything that would lead to a recent location. You were staring blankly out the window, dread and fear at the forefront of emotions you were currently experiencing. Mac sat down onto the vacant chair, placing a cup of coffee on the dark grey table.

“It was my fault”, clearing your dry throat, swirling your seat to face Mac. “I had to go undercover and I let Grayson get too close. Mac gave you this look, but you simply shook your head and told him it had nothing to do with being physically close, just emotionally. “He was very charming and he knew how to manipulate evidence pointing to him. While I foolishly let him cloud my judgment, it costed me my brother, the case and the two families their peace”. Eyes glistening, you wiped away any tears.

Mac rolled his chair over, hating how this was tearing you up inside. “None of this is on you, okay, none of it”.

“My brother died, Mac, because some lunatic became so fixated on my life. Just like Murdoc is with you”.

Riley’s voice echoed through the speakers. “We found him”.

At the sheer mention of “found”, you kicked the chair backwards. Storming over you asked Riley where his location was. Gracia sent the address to everyone’s cellphone – A warehouse downtown. Ignoring pleas to stay put, you dashed for the exit. Emotions high, vengeance even higher.

Agents surrounded the building, a perimeter was set for civilian safety and you were slowly becoming agitated with having to wait. Gracia hacked into the cameras, while Riley was directed the team. “Okay, you guys are in the clear”.

One man burst the door open, Prentiss team consisting of JJ, Jack and Rossi breached the building first. The second team was you, Mac and Reid. And surrounding the warehouse were the other agents. Once Riley gave the all clear the entrance further to the back shot wide open. Navigating through the empty warehouse, you swiftly ran to the other side, gun in front.

“Thermal shows a group in the far east”. Riley stated.

Your team was closet to those coordinates, so without thinking you left Mac and Reid behind, running to the target. Their hush voices yelling for you to wait, but there was no use, you were already out of earshot.

Hiding behind the wall, Grayson was giving a speech, one that you weren’t interested in listening too. Observing the odds, it was 6 men to one. A pulley caught your eye, on the end was a big crate perfectly centered over the men. Aiming the gun, you prayed the plan was going to work. A loud bang ricocheted and the crate along with the men went down.

“Hands up Grayson, it’s over”. You angrily called out.

He lifted up his arms, similar to how the wings on his eagle tattoo were spread out. “Y/N, what a welcome surprise”.

The rest of the team had now caught up, each bore their own worried expressions. Grayson didn’t mind the audience, in fact, you guys profiled him to
love the attention. He got off from having all eyes on him. Mac stepped forward but got pulled back by Jack.

Closing the gap, your hands gripping the gun. “Get on your knees, put your hands up. I’m not going to ask again!”.

His eyes twinkled, enjoying every second of the show you put on in his honor.
“How’s your dear old brother?”. Smirking, he put down his arms. Your jaw clenched. A immense amount of anger surging through every ounce of your body. Out of the corner of your eye Prentiss team maneuvered to block off any exits.

“There is no way out Grayson, surrender is your only option”. JJ shouted.

Reid lowered his weapon, walking slowly towards you with a soft expression, knowing just how much willpower it took to have not yet pulled the trigger.

“We got him, okay. His going to be put away for a long time”. Reid glanced over at Grayson, then settled in his eyes on you. “I know you, I know that there isn’t a bone in your body that’ll allow you to pull that trigger. You’re hurting and you think by shooting the man who murdered your brother will make that hurt go away”. Tears were now rolling down your cheeks, a flashback memory to that horrible night. Reid stepped forward, continuing his speech. “Just give me the gun and I promise you he’ll never see the outside of a prison cell again. But in order for me to do that, you need to trust me”. Your hand shaked, struggling with the notion of right and wrong. Between justice and revenge. Reid’s hand covered your own, the one that was pointing the gun at the man who caused you so much sleepless nights. “Please, just give me the gun”. He whispered.

With all the strength you could muster, you lowered the weapon. Rossi moved in to handcuff Grayson. Reid handed the gun off to another agent before you collapsed into his chest. Holding onto his shirt, you cried, letting two years worth of tears fall. Mac stood beside Jack and the rest of the BAU team, his eyes fixated on the scene in front of him – his

fiancé

seeking comfort from her old, former flame. Jack clapped Mac’s shoulder, knowing exactly what was running through that brain of his.

“She loves you, Mac”.

Mac didn’t say a word as he left the warehouse, his brain running a million miles a minute. A huge mountain of worry nesting in his heart.

Police Station

“Thank you for helping with the case”. Reid gave you a warm smile, packing up the last of the remaining files in the conference room.

Helping him take down the photos from the board, you weakly returned his earlier smile. “I should be thanking you guys. I can’t believe we caught him”. It felt surreal, a man who became a constant thought of fear in your life was now, what you hoped, behind bars and would never see the light of day. Sitting down on the table, one question had been bugging you since the warehouse. Staring up at Reid, “Why did he surrender?. That’s not how we profiled him, Reid. He always has a backup plan, that’s what makes him so-”.

He put a hand on your shoulder, indicating to take a breath. “Don’t drive yourself crazy by thinking about that. We got him, those two women are safe and back with their families. He’ll never be able to hurt anyone again”.

Realizing that Reid was right, it didn’t matter why Grayson decided to give himself up. As long as he was locked away for life, you’ll be able to move on with yours. Speaking of your future, Mac waltzed in, telling you Jack was ready to head back. Standing up, you gave Reid one last hug. “Don’t be a stranger, Spence”.

He grinned, “I promise, I won’t be”.

Mac placed his hand on your lower back leading you out to the car. And for the first time in quite a while you were able to sleep peacefully.

The Phoenix

“Where’s Mac?”. Scanning the war room and seeing that he was the only one missing.

Riley
and Bozer shared an concerned glance, although, it was Jack’s
expression that set off the alarm bells, indicating that the answer
wasn’t going to be pretty.

“He went home”.
Jack further explained, adding how Mac reacted to hearing the news you almost
got injured while at the crime scene. Plus the moment with Reid. You slowly nodded, understanding how all of that could concern Mac. Leaving the Phoenix, you left to go
check up on your
fiancé.

Mac’s House

Peaking into his bedroom, Mac aggressively
threw a piece of metal across his bed. There were only three people that
could get him to react this way – Murdoc, The Ghost and Reid. Entering,
Mac stopped working on his latest device. Joining him on the bed, the two of you silently stared at one another. Leaning over, resting your body weight on your knees, you gave Mac the most romantic kiss you could muster.

“What was that for?”. He asked. Instead of replying, you leaned in once more. Mac grabbed a hold of your waist, resting back on the pillow.

Sitting on his lap, you held up your left hand placing on his chest. “Jack told me everything”. Mac titled his head to the side, cursing under his breath about how Jack couldn’t keep a secret to save his life. You turned his face your way, “Reid and I, that’s in the past. I have no feelings from him other than friendship”.

“There’s a lot of history there, this mission could of very easily brought old romantic feelings to the surface”. Mac protested, frustration looming in his eyes.

Taking your engagement ring off you held it up to Mac, which didn’t ease any doubt he’d planted in his mind, however, he waited for you to speak. “Ask me again”.

Mac frowned, “Why?”.

“Just ask me”.

He took the ring, clearing his throat. “Y/N, will you marry me?”.

Smiling at him, you set the ring in it’s rightful place – your finger. “Yes, Mac. My answer will always be yes. No doubt, no hesitation, no fear. I’m 100% committed to becoming and being your wife”.

It took a few minutes, but, Mac eventually broke out into a grin. Hands massaging your thighs. Holding onto the Mac’s self made headboard, he meet you in the middle and worlds collided in the most beautiful way.

Mac was your number one and he always will be.
